SILENT REFLECTIONS SERIES. . .

exhaling


              i have stopped
              "waiting 2 exhale,"
              for a number of reasons.  
              --it is necessary 2 metion only one--
              the last time i did, the breath was
              forced back into my 
              body so violently
              it almost destroyed me.
              i can remember the shudders of my
              body as i struggled.
              that episode sent ripples 
              of pain into every area of my life
              i lost my self respect,
              my money,
              my job,
              my friends
              and most of my sanity.
              the only things left in tact 
                                     was my faith in God 
                                                    and my family.

	      and then i thought about it,
              and i 
                     exhaled,
              simply because i was 
                     alive
              and i was me.
              if i did not exhale, i could not breathe,
              if i did not breathe, i could not live.

	      the moment i exhaled,
                               ==and then chose 2 live==
              and inhaled again,
              back came my sanity, 
              my real friends,
              a new job. . .
              and a man 
              who breathed with me.

Note: a year later, this relationship was in trouble, 
not because I did not love him, 
but because he did not love God.

dreams

                Dreams of a new tomorrow--
                everlasting peace, love, and unity.
                Peace is mandatory,
                                Love is needed-
                                            Then unity will be imminent.

Death is not the only thing that brings solace.

Limerick for the Virgin Queen

                   I found love in the night
                   Under the bright night lights.
                   We thought we were cool, But I was the fool.
                   I had lost my sights, right there in the night,
                   and all the lights were suddenly not bright.
